This Is Not a Government Office. Colorado Court Records is a private reference site. We cannot pull official documents, file paperwork, or issue certified copies. Those services must come from the filing court, county office, or statewide Colorado agency that holds the record.
Need an Official Document?
Local Colorado records begin with the filing or issuing county. Use the county directory to reach that county's court-record site and identify its Clerk of Court, county clerk and recorder, sheriff or jail, district attorney, and municipal courts. Colorado has no single statewide clerk address for all trial files.
- Court case files and divorce decrees: use the county directory to reach the filing court's Clerk of Court
- Marriage licenses: contact the issuing county clerk and recorder through the county directory
- Probate, wills, and estates: see probate records; Denver Probate Court is the statewide exception
- Arrest reports, jail bookings, and local warrants: contact the arresting agency, sheriff, jail, or issuing court in the relevant county or city
- State prison records: use the Colorado Department of Corrections Offender Search, also described under inmate records
- Statewide criminal history: use the Colorado Bureau of Investigation criminal records service
- Driver records: use Colorado DMV's driver-record channels; the court still holds the ticket case file
Other statewide sources include Colorado VINE, the CBI Sex Offender Registry, and CDPHE Vital Records. CDPHE does not issue original Colorado marriage licenses or divorce decrees, so those requests still return to the correct county office.
